How will the Codesphere team work with me?

Last updated: June 13, 2025

Here’s how we typically partner with you to fix a problem:

Reporting the Issue: Your Crucial First Step

Our collaboration begins when you report an issue. To help us work together effectively from the start:

  • Please provide clear, detailed, and accurate information through the appropriate support channel (as outlined in our "How to Contact Codesphere Support" article).

  • The more context you give us initially (e.g., Workspace ID, error messages, steps to reproduce, screenshots), the faster we can begin effective diagnosis.

Initial Triage and Acknowledgment

Once your support request is received:

  • It will be logged in our system, and you'll receive an acknowledgment.

  • The issue will be reviewed and assigned to a support engineer best equipped to handle your specific query.

Collaborative Diagnosis: Understanding the Problem Together

This is where our teamwork truly comes into play:

  • Information Exchange: Our support engineer will carefully review the details you provided. They may then reach out with clarifying questions or request additional information. This could include:

    • Specific timestamps of when the issue occurred.

    • Relevant configurations (e.g., contents of your ci.yml, environment variable settings, or workspace resource setup).

    • Further details about your application's behavior.

    • Access to logs (either for you to provide or, in specific cases and with your explicit permission, for our team to review if platform tools allow).

  • Reproducing the Issue: To accurately diagnose a problem, we often need to understand how it occurs. We may attempt to reproduce the issue based on your steps in a controlled environment. For more complex scenarios, especially with Enterprise customers, we might (with your consent) suggest a shared screen session or request temporary, scoped access to observe the issue within your environment.

Developing and Proposing a Solution

Once the root cause is identified:

  • If the solution involves changes on your end (e.g., a configuration adjustment, a code modification): We will provide clear, step-by-step guidance, best practice recommendations, and relevant documentation to help you implement the fix.

  • If the issue is on the Codesphere platform side: We will explain the nature of the problem and the steps our team is taking to resolve it (e.g., deploying a bug fix, adjusting infrastructure). We'll provide an estimated timeline for resolution where possible.

Follow-Up and Closure

  • Once you confirm the issue is resolved, we'll proceed to close the support request.

  • We welcome any final questions you might have related to the issue.
